Rudy Negenborn appointed member of Advisory Board PLATINA3

Prof. dr. Rudy Negenborn, scientific project coordinator of H2020 funded IWT innovation project NOVIMOVE, is appointed member of the Advisory Board of PLATINA3, the European policy platform for Inland Waterway Transportation.

The EU-funded PLATINA3 project will provide for targeted coordination and support activities to promote inland waterway transport (IWT) in Europe. Started from January 2021, the project will run for 30 months. In this period the project will make the bridge towards future research, innovation and implementation needs within IWT in Europe.

The main objective of PLATINA3 is to provide the knowledge base for the implementation of the EU Green Deal in view of further development of the European Commissions’ IWT action programme (NAIADES) towards 2030. The platform will be a catalyst for awareness, stakeholder engagement and uptake of outcomes from related national and European projects and initiatives. PLATINA3 will consolidate their findings, assess their impacts and gaps.

The appointment of prof. dr. Rudy Negenborn will ensure strong and structural ties between the policy implementation objectives and the academic community. PLATINA3 works on publications on relevant IWT topics and organises a total of 6 Stage Events, more information can be found on www.platina3.eu
