The water levels on the major rivers are becoming increasingly unpredictable. Climate change reduces the stability of the supply of meltwater from the mountains.
In combination with long periods of drought and hotter summers, this will increasingly lead to extremely low water levels in the future. In March 2023, TU Delft’s Cornell Thill has been interviewed by the ‘Schuttevaer’ newspaper.
