📽 The NOVIMOVE – smart & sustainable waterways project has shown significant progress in Antwerp during the recent demonstration session at SEAFAR recently.
Enhancements in inland waterway navigation include more accurate ship positioning signals, which improve safety and give remote captains increased confidence. A demonstration highlighted the positive impact on water safety.
The second part of the demonstration dealt with innovation in route planning, supported by data from the Flemish Waterway and CoVadem, optimizing travel routes and lock scheduling for efficiency and safety, avoiding unnecessary waiting times, and potentially reducing fuel consumption.
These developments, supported by the EU Horizon 2020 programme, promise to become market-ready products soon. The WP3 team deserves praise for their achievements!
